One of my favorite quotes is by Carl Rogers, the father of person-centered therapy. He said, "The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change." I believe this to be true of each one of us. As an integrative therapist with 10 years of experience, I seek to provide a caring, empathic space in which clients will feel they are accepted unconditionally; a safe space for people to explore any issue they may bring, big or small. I also believe that each one of us has the resources to find solutions within. With support and guidance from me, I help the client to identify personal goals and find solutions to long-standing problems.
My approach tends to be a combination of different techniques and schools of therapy that I have found to be effective, including cognitive-behavioral and person-centered. I have a particular interest in energy psychology, especially the Emotional Freedom Technique, Matrix Reimprinting and REMAP which can be used to treat a broad spectrum of issues including but not limited to depression, anxiety, phobias, trauma and sexual abuse. My personal experience suggests that these techniques can work amazingly quickly and effectively. In addition, I have experience with personality disorders, mood disorders, existential issues, chronic pain, career and relationship stress.
I am continually learning about the latest therapy techniques so that I might be as effective as possible in helping my clients to be successful on their healing journey.
